R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Logan Legg achieved great distinction by winning |
|
state champion honors in the 600-yard competition at the 2023 Texas |
|
State Rifle Association Mid-Range Prone Championship; and |
|
WHEREAS, Joining other top competitors in Carthage from |
|
September 29 to October 1, Logan scored 98.75 percent and earned his |
|
High Master classification for exceeding 98.5 percent over 120 |
|
shots; he also received a Governor's Twenty pin for finishing as one |
|
of the top 20 residents from the Lone Star State in the overall |
|
competition; and |
|
WHEREAS, Currently a seventh-grade student, Logan began |
|
competing in National Rifle Association and Civilian Marksmanship |
|
Program high powered rifle competitions after turning 12 years old; |
|
his achievements have included placing fourth at the NRA Mid-Range |
|
Prone Nationals, held in Indiana in July; he was selected for the |
|
1st Master Award at that event for tallying the highest individual |
|
aggregate score in the Master Class, recording 97.5 percent over |
|
240 rounds fired at distances from 300 to 600 yards; and |
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in a premier state showcase for |
|
marksmanship, Logan Legg has ably represented his community, and he |
|
will cherish his memories of this outstanding accomplishment for |
|
years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Logan Legg on |
|
winning state champion honors in the 600-yard competition at the |
|
2023 Texas State Rifle Association Mid-Range Prone Championship and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Legg as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
