R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Mary Sue Cole were |
|
deeply saddened by her death on December 8, 2022, at the age of 86; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mary Cole was born to Oscar and Ella Mae Dixon on |
|
September 16, 1936, in Smith County; a 1954 graduate of Troup High |
|
School, she spent the majority of her career as an ob-gyn nurse, and |
|
she volunteered at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler in retirement; |
|
she was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a |
|
dedicated congregant of First Baptist Church of Mixon; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cole enjoyed a rewarding family life with her |
|
husband, Joe Cole, and their children, Becky, Scott, Jody, John, |
|
Jeffery, and Jay, and she delighted in her role as "Mimi" to her |
|
numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; in her leisure |
|
time, she took great pleasure in traveling and playing cards and 42; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Mary Cole is deeply missed, those who held |
|
her dear will forever remember the warmth and joy she brought into |
|
their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd |
|
Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Sue Cole |
|
and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Mary Cole. |
