         WHEREAS, The prosperity of the Lone Star State has been
  greatly influenced by family farming and ranching, and the
  Sanzenbacher Ranch in Clay County has been recognized for its role
  in this proud tradition with its acceptance into the state's Family
  Land Heritage Program in 2023, during its 150th anniversary year;
  and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture,
  this program honors farms and ranches that have been in continuous
  agricultural operation by the same family for a century or more;

  operated by J. H. "Sonny" Baldwin, Forrest Baldwin, Ryan Baldwin,
  Harrison Baldwin, and Jacquelyn Sewell; and

  United States from Germany in 1847, and in 1873, he founded

  Christian's wife, Lucy; Uncle John passed away in 1879, and Lucy's
  brother, Henry Carle, joined the endeavor in 1886; he and the
  couple's youngest son, Henry Chris, assumed operations when
  Christian fell ill, and following the deaths of Christian and Lucy,
  the ranch was divided among their heirs in 1926; Henry Chris kept
  the original parcel of land and the house, which is still in use
  today; and
         WHEREAS, Henry Carle and his wife, Elsie Borgman, maintained
  the landholdings and herd with their son, Carle Roselle, and his
  wife, Anna Lee, until 1978, when ownership and management fell to
  Elsie and to Anna Lee's nephew, Sonny Baldwin; after Elsie's passing
  in 1995, Sonny inherited the ranch, and he went on to introduce new
  breedlines that improved the quality and size of calves; his son
  Forrest Baldwin currently manages the ranch's daily operations and
  oversees its production of cattle, horses, and hay; and
         WHEREAS, In preserving their property as a working ranch,
  Sonny Baldwin, Forrest Baldwin, Ryan Baldwin, Harrison Baldwin, and
  Jacquelyn Sewell are making their own contribution to their
  family's legacy, and it is indeed fitting that they be honored for
  their outstanding stewardship; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd
  Called Session, hereby congratulate J. H. "Sonny" Baldwin, Forrest

  of Agriculture Family Land Heritage Program and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  Senate.
