SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Columbus Community Hospital on its recent facility
  expansion and renovation and on its commitment to providing
  high-quality health care to the residents of Columbus and the
  surrounding areas; and
         WHEREAS, Columbus Community Hospital is a nonprofit
  community hospital that operates without a county or hospital
  district and is one of the largest employers in the area; the
  hospital has provided more than $2 million in uncompensated  
  patient care, and it has been recognized among the top hospitals
  nationwide on multiple occasions; and
         WHEREAS, In 2021, Columbus Community Hospital launched its
  expansion project with the aim of updating and expanding both
  inpatient and outpatient care facilities and establishing a
  wellness center with a range of amenities; the project was
  carried out without the use of local, state tax funds or federal
  funding, and its completion has enabled the hospital to serve a
  greater number of patients and to offer a broader range of health
  care options; and
         WHEREAS, The project involved the addition of a new
  facility space, including new patient exam rooms, four
  additional nursery bays, and a new anesthesia care unit equipped
  with 10 recovery beds and two pre-operative beds; renovation
  efforts included updates to the hospital's emergency rooms,
  labor and delivery room, nurses' station, and medical office
  building, and in 2022, the hospital opened its Wellness Center
  offering state-of-the-art fitness equipment, an indoor track, a
  group fitness studio, physical therapy services, a pool, and a
  demonstration kitchen; and
         WHEREAS, Columbus Community Hospital has shown
  outstanding dedication in serving the residents of the Columbus
  area, and it is truly fitting that this exemplary institution
  receive special recognition on its ongoing commitment to
  providing exceptional care to the people of the Lone Star State;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend all associated
  with Columbus Community Hospital on their outstanding
  contributions to public health and wellness in the state and
  extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Columbus Community Hospital as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
