CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, In recognition of her notable contributions to area |
|
athletics, Terri McColloch was inducted into the Midland |
|
Independent School District Hall of Legends on October 27, 2023; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Every other year, the Hall of Legends recognizes a |
|
new class of inductees, honoring exceptional athletes, teams, and |
|
coaches, as well as prominent supporters of the district's sports |
|
programs; and |
|
WHEREAS, Distinguishing herself in a trailblazing role, |
|
Terri McColloch launched the volleyball program at Midland High |
|
School; she enjoyed an outstanding run of success over the course of |
|
her 18-year tenure as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs, leading her |
|
teams to 9 district championships and 20 playoff appearances while |
|
racking up 466 wins against only 208 losses; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. McColloch earned a dozen Coach of the Year |
|
awards and was chosen as the West All-Star Coach in 1994; moreover, |
|
many of the student-athletes she mentored garnered district Most |
|
Valuable Player accolades, and numerous members of the Bulldog |
|
volleyball program were honored with selection to the Texas Girls |
|
Coaches Association Academic All-State Team; during her time with |
|
Midland ISD, she also served as the department chair for health and |
|
physical education and as the girls athletic coordinator; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her dedicated efforts, Terri McColloch has |
|
furthered the proud tradition of athletic excellence and |
|
participation that has long been a hallmark of Midland ISD, and she |
|
is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas, |
|
4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Terri McColloch on her |
|
induction into the Midland ISD Hall of Legends and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Coach McColloch as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives and Senate. |
