CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Cecil and Wilma |
|
|
Halfmann of St. Lawrence celebrated this joyous milestone in their |
|
|
marriage on October 14, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann were joined in matrimony in |
|
|
1953 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen; over the years, they |
|
|
have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their 10 |
|
|
children, 30 grandchildren, and 59 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and |
|
|
Mrs. Halfmann retired from farming in 1995, and their many hobbies |
|
|
have included dancing, gardening, and playing dominoes and cards; |
|
|
in addition, Mr. Halfmann took up woodworking in his retirement, |
|
|
and Mrs. Halfmann is an avid quilter who also takes pleasure in |
|
|
baking and playing bunco; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann have enjoyed seven decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas, |
|
|
4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Cecil and Wilma Halfmann on |
|
|
their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Halfmann as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate. |
