R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Cinco Ranch High School received the inaugural Katy |
|
Cup Champions award from the Katy Independent School District on |
|
August 8, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established during the 2022-2023 school year, the |
|
Katy Cup Champions competition scores the district's nine high |
|
schools in the categories of athletic achievement, academic |
|
achievement, and community service; each category has a total point |
|
value of 180 points, which are distributed according to each |
|
school's rank; the campus that earns the most points is named the |
|
Katy Cup Champion; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1999, Cinco Ranch High has |
|
equipped countless Katy ISD students with the skills they need to |
|
become responsible citizens and leaders; today, the school serves |
|
nearly 3,800 students in grades 9 through 12, and it benefits from |
|
the able leadership of its principal, Dr. Kaye Williams; among its |
|
many accomplishments, the campus has earned an A rating from the |
|
Texas Education Agency, and in 2008, it was named a National Blue |
|
Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education; and |
|
WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, and students of Cinco Ranch High |
|
School have set an inspiring example of hard work and perseverance, |
|
and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing the campus for its |
|
outstanding record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Cinco Ranch |
|
High School on receiving the inaugural Katy Cup Champions award |
|
from Katy ISD and extend to all those associated with the campus |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
