R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Cinco Ranch High School received the inaugural Katy
  Cup Champions award from the Katy Independent School District on
  August 8, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Established during the 2022-2023 school year, the
  Katy Cup Champions competition scores the district's nine high
  schools in the categories of athletic achievement, academic
  achievement, and community service; each category has a total point
  value of 180 points, which are distributed according to each
  school's rank; the campus that earns the most points is named the
  Katy Cup Champion; and
         WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1999, Cinco Ranch High has
  equipped countless Katy ISD students with the skills they need to
  become responsible citizens and leaders; today, the school serves
  nearly 3,800 students in grades 9 through 12, and it benefits from
  the able leadership of its principal, Dr. Kaye Williams; among its
  many accomplishments, the campus has earned an A rating from the
  Texas Education Agency, and in 2008, it was named a National Blue
  Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education; and
         WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, and students of Cinco Ranch High
  School have set an inspiring example of hard work and perseverance,
  and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing the campus for its
  outstanding record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Cinco Ranch
  High School on receiving the inaugural Katy Cup Champions award
  from Katy ISD and extend to all those associated with the campus
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
