R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Suzanne Reed of the Flower Mound Police Department
  was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on October 15, 2023, and this
  achievement represents an impressive milestone in her law
  enforcement career; and
         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Reed was hired by the Flower Mound Police
  Department as a patrol officer in 2006; over the course of her
  tenure, she has distinguished herself in such varied roles as
  detective, crimes analyst, victim's liaison, patrol sergeant, and
  traffic sergeant, and she has also served on the crisis negotiation
  team and as an instructor; moreover, she has furthered her
  professional development by earning certification as a master peace
  officer, marine safety enforcement officer, and mental health peace
  officer; and
         WHEREAS, In recognition of her contributions, Lieutenant
  Reed was selected as the Officer of the Year in both 2009 and 2014;
  her other accolades include the 2014 State of Texas Senate Award and
  the 2015 Police Commendation Award; this accomplished peace officer
  holds an associate's degree in computer science from Howard
  College; and
         WHEREAS, Through her skill, professionalism, and dedication
  to duty, Lieutenant Suzanne Reed has greatly benefited her
  colleagues and her fellow citizens, and she may indeed reflect with
  pride on this well-deserved promotion; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Suzanne Reed
  on attaining the rank of lieutenant with the Flower Mound Police
  Department and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Lieutenant Reed as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
