R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, John Stewart of the Flower Mound Police Department |
|
|
was promoted to the rank of sergeant on October 15, 2023, and this |
|
|
achievement represents an impressive milestone in his law |
|
|
enforcement career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Stewart attended Louisiana Tech |
|
|
University, and he began his career with the Flower Mound police |
|
|
force in 2016; after working as a patrol officer, he transferred to |
|
|
the Criminal Investigations Division in 2020, and he has |
|
|
distinguished himself in the roles of fraud detective, Cellebrite |
|
|
operator, and certified cyber crime investigator; he has also |
|
|
served as a bike officer and a SWAT operator; a National Computer |
|
|
Forensics Institute graduate, he holds advanced peace officer |
|
|
certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Highly respected by his peers, Sergeant Stewart was |
|
|
honored as the Flower Mound Police Department Rookie of the Year in |
|
|
2018; additionally, he has garnered two Community Service Awards |
|
|
and a Certificate of Merit Award; a task force officer with the |
|
|
United States Secret Service, he is the recipient of multiple |
|
|
letters of appreciation and commendations from the U.S. Department |
|
|
of Justice and other federal agencies; moreover, he is a former |
|
|
president of the Flower Mound Police Association and currently |
|
|
serves as the organization's acting vice president; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and dedication |
|
|
to duty, Sergeant John Stewart has greatly benefited his colleagues |
|
|
and his fellow citizens, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|
|
this well-deserved promotion; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate John Stewart |
|
|
on attaining the rank of sergeant with the Flower Mound Police |
|
|
Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Sergeant Stewart as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
