R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Yazmin Guerra of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest |
|
|
Early College High School distinguished herself with her |
|
|
outstanding showing in the 5A girls' competition at the 2023 |
|
|
University Interscholastic League Cross Country State |
|
|
Championships; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in |
|
|
Texas at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on November 3, Ms. Guerra |
|
|
turned in a notable performance, delivering a personal best time of |
|
|
18 minutes, 19.6 seconds, to finish in eighth place in the 5A field; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school cross country athletes, Yazmin Guerra has ably |
|
|
represented her school and community, and she will cherish her |
|
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Yazmin Guerra |
|
|
on her eighth-place finish in the 5A girls' competition at the 2023 |
|
|
UIL Cross Country State Championships and extend to her sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Guerra as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
