R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The marching band of Panhandle High School achieved |
|
great distinction with its outstanding performance at the |
|
University Interscholastic League 2A State Marching Band Contest, |
|
which was held at the Alamodome in San Antonio on October 31, 2023; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Facing off against other top marching bands from |
|
across Texas, the Panhandle High ensemble delivered an outstanding |
|
showing at the state championship event; guided by band director |
|
John Bratton, the Pride of Panhandle band captured the bronze medal |
|
in the 2A contest, securing the highest finish at a state |
|
competition in program history; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to give |
|
their very best, the talented young performers of the Panhandle |
|
High School Marching Band have earned the admiration of their |
|
fellow students and their many community supporters, and they may |
|
indeed take great pride in their achievements; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate the Panhandle |
|
High School band on its third-place finish at the 2023 UIL 2A State |
|
Marching Band Contest and that all those involved with the ensemble |
|
be extended sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
