R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Fran Laukaitis is retiring as president of Methodist
  Charlton Medical Center in Dallas on January 5, 2024, following an
  exemplary tenure spanning 14 years with the hospital; and
         WHEREAS, In 2010, Ms. Laukaitis joined Methodist Charlton as
  chief nursing officer, and five years later, she became the first
  registered nurse and first woman appointed president of a Methodist
  Health System facility; she has worked tirelessly to advance
  quality of care, and patient experience metrics have improved
  dramatically, while the number of patients who leave the emergency
  department without being seen has been greatly reduced; moreover,
  Methodist Charlton has excelled in Joint Commission surveys; and
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Ms. Laukaitis, the hospital
  opened its intermediate care unit and other new units; it also added
  EP services and expanded many other service lines; she guided the
  growth of the STEMI program for fast heart attack care, and the
  hospital achieved primary stroke accreditation; in addition, she
  oversaw the construction of the $70 million, state-of-the-art
  emergency department serving the southern sector of Dallas; along
  the way, she has strengthened connections with local communities;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Laukaitis is a Fellow in the American College of
  Healthcare Executives; she holds both a bachelor's degree in
  nursing and a master of health administration degree; early in her
  career, she gained experience at hospitals in Pennsylvania, Ohio,
  Florida, and Texas; in 1999, she became chief nursing officer of a
  Montana facility, and she rose to become its chief operating
  officer; and
         WHEREAS, Through her vision, skill, and commitment to
  excellence, Fran Laukaitis has greatly advanced the important
  mission of Methodist Charlton Medical Center, and as she embarks on
  the next exciting chapter of her life, she may indeed take pride in
  her outstanding achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Fran
  Laukaitis on her retirement as president of Methodist Charlton
  Medical Center and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Laukaitis as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
