R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Timberwolf Marching Band of Cedar Park High
  School continued its proud tradition of excellence by claiming the
  5A state championship at the 2023 University Interscholastic League
  State Open Class Marching Band Contest, held November 7 at the
  Alamodome in San Antonio; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the other top competitors from across the
  Lone Star State, the Cedar Park High band members impressed the
  panel of judges, achieving a total score of 14 to take home the
  coveted Class 5A championship; and
         WHEREAS, The victory marked the sixth state title for the
  Timberwolves since 2011; moreover, the Cedar Park ensemble has also
  excelled in numerous other competitions through the years, and
  during the fall of 2023, it turned in strong performances at the
  Bands of America Austin Regional and San Antonio Super Regional
  contests; and
         WHEREAS, The Timberwolf Marching Band includes more than 220
  wind players, percussionists, and color guard members; these
  talented and determined performers benefit from the leadership of
  Cedar Park High School's director of bands, Christopher Yee,
  associate directors Kendall Santos and Jeremiah Armstrong, and
  director of percussion, Roland Chavez; and
         WHEREAS, The members of the Cedar Park High School Timberwolf
  Marching Band have distinguished themselves through their skill and
  dedication, and their recognition as one of the best marching bands
  in Texas is a source of tremendous pride to their school and their
  community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate the Cedar Park
  High School Timberwolf Marching Band on winning the 5A state
  championship at the 2023 UIL State Open Class Marching Band Contest
  and that all those involved with the ensemble be extended sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
