R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Mary Lou Schanen of Robstown passed away on
  November 28, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving behind numerous loved
  ones to cherish her memory; and
         WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Robstown, the former Mary Lou
  Perez was born on July 3, 1954, to Helio and Beatriz Tagle Perez,
  and she grew up with the companionship of four brothers, Helio,
  Raul, David, and Alejandro, and three sisters, Rosa, Beatrice, and
  Bertha; she went on to enjoy a rewarding 25-year career as a
  certified nurse's assistant in the home health and nursing home
  industry; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Schanen became the treasured matriarch of a
  family that included her 5 children, Peter, Amie, Stephanie, Tammy,
  and Leo, as well as her 14 grandchildren and her numerous nieces and
  nephews; she was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she also
  loved caring for her pets; in her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing,
  gardening, cooking, and dancing to country and Tejano music; a
  woman of devout faith, she was a valued member of St. Anthony
  Catholic Church in Robstown; and
         WHEREAS, Although Mary Lou Schanen is deeply missed, those
  who held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness she
  brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Mary Lou Schanen and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of
  her family: to her children, Dr. Peter John Schanen and his wife,
  Irma, Amie Schanen, Stephanie Schanen-Skimmyhorn and her husband,
  William, Tammy Schanen, and Leo John Schanen III; to her brothers,
  Helio Perez Jr. and his wife, Blascita, and Raul Perez and his wife,
  Sylvia; to her sisters, Rosa Silguero, Beatrice Mesquias and her
  husband, Richard, and Bertha Perez; to her grandchildren; and to
  her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Lou
  Schanen.
