R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jack Martin has been inducted into the Texas
  Business Hall of Fame; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his wise counsel and strategic acumen,
  Mr. Martin has been a trusted advisor to both business and
  government leaders over the years; he served as the executive
  assistant to U.S. Senator Lloyd Bentsen early on in his career, and
  in 1988, he founded Public Strategies, which grew to become one of
  the most successful corporate advisory firms in the world; after
  merging with Hill & Knowlton, Mr. Martin was appointed global chair
  and CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies and subsequently distinguished
  himself through his able leadership of the firm, which encompassed
  more than 80 offices across 44 countries; and
         WHEREAS, After stepping down from Hill+Knowlton Strategies,
  Mr. Martin formed JPM Advisory, LLC, as part of a family investment
  platform active in ranching, oil and gas, and various
  entrepreneurial endeavors; a fourth-generation Texan, he currently
  owns the JPM Ranch Company, which includes the Mallard Creek Ranch
  in Montague and the Open C Ranch in Forestburg; he further serves
  the community as chair of the Baylor Scott & White Holdings Board of
  Trustees, which oversees the largest not-for-profit healthcare
  system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Martin enjoys the love and
  support of his wife, Patsy, and he is known as a consummate
  storyteller, an always-reliable source of sound advice, and a loyal
  friend to many; and
         WHEREAS, Jack Martin has earned the deep respect and
  admiration of the Texas business community, and he is indeed
  deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Jack Martin on
  his induction into the Texas Business Hall of Fame and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Martin as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
