R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their |
|
memories of Maria Guadelupe Garcia of San Benito, who passed away on |
|
November 28, 2023, at the age of 70; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Santiago Raul García, Sr. and Marta |
|
Pérez García was born in Harlingen, Texas on October 14, 1953; she |
|
lived a fulfilling and joyous childhood alongside her siblings; |
|
Santiago, Janie, Nora, Estella, Teri, Rene, and Ricardo. |
|
WHEREAS, She received a Bachelor of Science in Education |
|
degree and was a highly respected professional educator. She |
|
impacted the lives of countless students throughout her tenure as a |
|
professional educator at Villa María High School and San Benito |
|
C.I.S.D. She retired from San Benito C.I.S.D. after thirty-six |
|
exemplary years of teaching. |
|
WHEREAS, Affectionally known as “Ms. ML”, Sheproudly |
|
dedicated well over 30 years of her life to San Benito CISD and the |
|
youth of the local community. She came to work for the local school |
|
system in 1981 and retired in 2016, having left for 5 years to serve |
|
the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville. |
|
WHEREAS, Maria Guadelupe Garcia lived a life that was rich in |
|
personal and professional achievements, and she will forever be a |
|
source of inspiration to those she leaves behind; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Maria Guadalupe Garcia and extend heartfelt sympathy to the |
|
members of her family, other relatives and many friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Maria |
|
Guadalupe Garcia. |
