SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Val LaMantia, who is being inducted into the Texas |
|
|
Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding accomplishments in the |
|
|
field of business; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Governor's Commission for Women established |
|
|
the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 1984 to recognize extraordinary |
|
|
Texas women who have made significant contributions to the Lone |
|
|
Star State in the fields of the arts, athletics, business, |
|
|
education, philanthropy, public service, and science and |
|
|
technology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exceptional women from across the state are |
|
|
nominated biennially by their fellow Texans and selected by an |
|
|
independent panel of judges for induction into the Texas Women's |
|
|
Hall of Fame; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Val LaMantia is being honored in recognition of |
|
|
her business leadership and her philanthropic endeavors; she is |
|
|
the owner and managing partner of a beverage distribution company |
|
|
and a founding member of the STARS Scholarship Fund that has |
|
|
served nearly 20,000 students in South and West Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Val will be recognized at the 2023 Texas Women's |
|
|
Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 9, 2023, in Austin; a |
|
|
woman of wisdom and integrity, she is truly deserving of being |
|
|
honored for her generosity of spirit and for her many |
|
|
achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Val LaMantia on |
|
|
her induction into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame and extend to |
|
|
her best wishes for continued success in all her future |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
