Barbara Ruth Boone |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with |
|
|
the passing of Barbara Ruth Boone of White Oak on |
|
|
November 2, 2023, at the age of 68; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Bill and Marlena Terry, the former |
|
|
Barbara Terry was born in Bronte on November 11, 1954, and she grew |
|
|
up with the companionship of seven siblings, Patricia, Mollie, |
|
|
Gary, James, Richard, Steve, and Mike; she moved with her family to |
|
|
White Oak in 1961, and after graduating from high school, she |
|
|
attended nursing school at Kilgore College; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Boone briefly worked at Good Shepherd |
|
|
Hospital before embarking on a rewarding career as a mail |
|
|
carrier for the United States Postal Service; over the course |
|
|
of her more than three decades in that position, she formed |
|
|
many lasting friendships with her colleagues and customers |
|
|
along her route; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Above all else, Ms. Boone was a devoted mother to |
|
|
her daughter, Amanda Munoz, and she had the pleasure of welcoming |
|
|
into her family a grandson, Keelin; a woman of deep faith, she was |
|
|
a longtime member of White Oak United Methodist Church; in her |
|
|
leisure hours, she enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing, and |
|
|
spending time with her loved ones; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Barbara Boone is greatly missed, she has |
|
|
left her family and friends with many cherished memories, and she |
|
|
will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
|
Barbara Ruth Boone and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of |
|
|
her family: to her daughter, Amanda Munoz; to her grandson, Keelin |
|
|
Munoz; to her sisters, Patricia Owens and Mollie Upton; to her |
|
|
brothers, Gary Smith, James Smith, Richard Smith, and Steve Terry; |
|
|
and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Barbara Boone. |
