SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Children and Family Institute on the occasion of the
  organization's 30th anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, Children and Family Institute was established in
  1993 by Rose Nesbitt Jones with the mission to find permanent,
  loving homes for hard-to-place children from diverse
  backgrounds, including African American children, school-age
  children, and sibling groups; and
         WHEREAS, Rose Nesbitt Jones began fostering children as a
  volunteer house parent for at-risk teenage girls while
  completing her university studies in social work; guided by her
  passion for adoption, she went on to serve for 40 years as a
  social worker with a number of agencies, including the Texas
  Department of Family and Protective Services, where she served
  for seven years; and
         WHEREAS, Determined to do more in service of children,
  Rose set her heart on pursuing this calling, and she established
  the Children and Family Institute to provide hope and a future to
  youth and children in the area; and
         WHEREAS, Since its inception, the organization has
  nurtured an ethos of compassion in the community and has been
  instrumental in strengthening and restoring families over the
  years; in 2008, the institute began to offer a range of
  comprehensive support services at no cost to parents, including
  such services as classes, mentoring, career planning, adoption
  education, financial education, and life skills training; and
         WHEREAS, Four years later, the organization opened an
  additional branch office in the Fort Worth area, and in 2015, it
  established the Fatherhood Institute to provide a program that
  offers support services to fathers of all ages; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout the past three decades, Children and
  Family Institute has served as a beacon of hope to foster
  children and youth and has empowered families to take courage in
  cultivating the beautiful spirit of adoption; this outstanding
  organization has forged a lasting legacy of compassion,
  resilience, and positive social change, and it is a shining
  example to future generations who wish to build a brighter
  tomorrow; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend the staff and
  volunteers of Children and Family Institute on 30 years of
  dedicated service to foster children in the Lone Star State and
  extend to all best wishes for continued success in the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the institute as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
