R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ray Wilson is retiring as district director in the
  office of State Senator Bryan Hughes on January 31, 2024, drawing to
  a close an exemplary career in public service; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in the
  legislative community; he has worked for Senator Hughes for many
  years and began his career as a staff member during the legislator's
  tenure in the Texas House; deeply respected throughout East Texas,
  Mr. Wilson has built strong relationships with numerous government
  and business leaders and community stakeholders; moreover, he is a
  gifted communicator who has served as a featured speaker at events
  across the region; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Wilson's wide-ranging
  abilities have also been demonstrated in positions with State
  Senator Kevin Eltife and State Representatives David Simpson and
  Chris Paddie; in addition, he has worked in insurance and
  investments and has been employed at Vision America and the Sabine
  Valley Regional MHMR Center in Longview; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Hawkins, Densal Ray Wilson graduated
  from East Texas Baptist College in 1981, and he has distinguished
  himself during a long career in the ministry; renowned for his kind
  and gentle nature and his embodiment of Christian values, he has
  been a pastor at Light of the World Church in Marshall for 17 years,
  and he previously pastored Agape Family Church for 13 years; and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Wilson benefits from
  the love and support of a fine family that includes his wife, Terri,
  his children and their spouses, Tim and Jacie Wilson, Ben and Brandy
  Wilson, and Aaron and Alisha Wilson, and his grandchildren,
  Bentley, Weston, Cruz, Ava, Jhett, Zoey, Watson, Lorelai, and
  Gabriel; retirement will afford him the opportunity to spend more
  time with his loved ones and to focus on his ministerial work; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his
  duties as district director with skill and dedication, and he may
  indeed reflect with pride on his many years of exceptional service;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 4th
  Called Session, hereby congratulate Ray Wilson on his retirement as
  district director in the office of State Senator Bryan Hughes and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Wilson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  Senate.
