A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the conspicuous marking of certain police vehicles as |
|
|
police vehicles. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 547.702, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) A police vehicle used to patrol shall be conspicuously |
|
|
marked as a police vehicle with the insignia of the applicable law |
|
|
enforcement agency clearly visible at a distance of up to 500 feet |
|
|
under normal atmospheric conditions. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
