A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the applicability to open-enrollment charter schools of |
|
|
certain law regarding travel expenses. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 12.1058, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) An open-enrollment charter school and an officer, |
|
|
employee, or member of the governing body of an open-enrollment |
|
|
charter school are subject to Section 660.093, Government Code, as |
|
|
though the school were a state agency and the officer, employee, or |
|
|
member were a state employee, regardless of whether state funds are |
|
|
used to pay or reimburse for the travel of the officer, employee, or |
|
|
member. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
