A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the review by the Sunset Advisory Commission of a state |
|
|
agency's use of information technology. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 325.0124 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 325.0124. REVIEW OF AGENCY'S USE OF INFORMATION |
|
|
TECHNOLOGY. As part of its review of a state agency, the commission |
|
|
shall consider and make recommendations regarding the agency's use |
|
|
of information technology, including a review of: |
|
|
(1) the information technology programs the agency |
|
|
develops internally and the information technology programs for |
|
|
which the agency contracts; |
|
|
(2) the agency's information technology policies; |
|
|
(3) the agency's information technology contracts and |
|
|
licenses; and |
|
|
(4) any other issue related to the agency's use of |
|
|
information technology to ensure the technology used is |
|
|
cost-effective and efficient. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
