A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the authority of a physician to supervise or delegate |
|
|
the prescribing or ordering of a drug or device to a physician |
|
|
assistant or advanced practice registered nurse. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 157.0511, Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) A physician may not supervise or delegate the |
|
|
prescribing or ordering of a drug or device under this subchapter to |
|
|
a physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse if the |
|
|
physician has, in the preceding two years, been subject to |
|
|
disciplinary action for a standard of care violation by the board or |
|
|
a medical licensing board of any other state. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
