A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the titling and registration of motor vehicles by motor |
|
|
vehicle dealers. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 520, Transportation Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 520.0055 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 520.0055. DUTIES OF MOTOR VEHICLE DEALERS. A motor |
|
|
vehicle dealer shall use the electronic system designed by the |
|
|
department and made available by a county assessor-collector under |
|
|
Section 520.005 to submit a title and registration application in |
|
|
the name of the purchaser of a motor vehicle. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
