A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the evaluation of child-care providers participating in |
|
|
the Texas Rising Star Program. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2308.3155, Government Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsections (b-3) and (b-4) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-3) When determining the provider's rating under the |
|
|
rating system adopted under Subsection (b), the commission shall |
|
|
consider: |
|
|
(1) comments from caregivers employed by the |
|
|
child-care provider and parents of children receiving care from the |
|
|
provider; |
|
|
(2) information regarding any investigations by the |
|
|
Department of Family and Protective Services relating to the |
|
|
provider; and |
|
|
(3) a provider's detailed licensing information, |
|
|
including any reports against the provider for a violation of the |
|
|
minimum standards for the provider and any adverse action taken by |
|
|
the Health and Human Services Commission against the provider's |
|
|
license or registration. |
|
|
(b-4) The commission shall collaborate with the Department |
|
|
of Family and Protective Services and the Health and Human Services |
|
|
Commission to obtain the information described by Subsections |
|
|
(b-3)(2) and (3). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
