A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to driver's license office appointments. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 521.002, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 521.002. CONVENIENCE TO PUBLIC. (a) The department |
|
|
shall implement its duties under this chapter in the manner that |
|
|
provides the greatest convenience to the public. |
|
|
(b) The department shall provide each person who requests an |
|
|
appointment with a driver's license office an opportunity to |
|
|
schedule an appointment that occurs not later than three business |
|
|
days after the date the appointment is requested. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
