R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Community and business leaders from Fort Bend County |
|
are gathering in Austin on February 23, 2023, to celebrate Fort Bend |
|
County Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
WHEREAS, This year's noteworthy event is being presented by |
|
the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and the Central Fort Bend Chamber; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce works with its |
|
more than 1,200 member companies and organizations to advocate for |
|
business excellence while promoting tourism and the well-being of |
|
the community; the group is one of only 133 chambers of commerce in |
|
the United States to receive a 5-star accreditation from the U.S. |
|
Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Central Fort Bend Chamber endeavors to develop |
|
programs that bring about economic growth and employment |
|
opportunities, as well as an overall improvement in the quality of |
|
life for area residents; the alliance promotes local businesses and |
|
provides them with a united voice while working with other |
|
organizations and local government; and |
|
WHEREAS, The vision and leadership provided by these |
|
organizations have a positive and energizing influence on this |
|
fast-growing region of the Lone Star State, and their members are to |
|
be commended for their support of their communities; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 23, 2023, as Fort Bend County |
|
Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting |
|
delegation. |
