R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Rosa Navejar has been elected as board chair of the |
|
Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, becoming the first Latina to hold |
|
that position in the chamber's 140-year history; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Navejar is president of The Rios Group, Inc., |
|
which she established in 2012; she previously spent 25 years in the |
|
banking industry, followed by more than a decade as president of the |
|
Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to her community, Ms. Navejar has |
|
served on numerous boards and committees, including the Fort Worth |
|
Executive Roundtable and the Safe City Commission, as well as the |
|
City of Fort Worth Task Force on Race and Culture and Transportation |
|
and Infrastructure Committee; moreover, she was appointed by U.S. |
|
Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood to the National Freight |
|
Advisory Committee, and she was vice chair of Trinity Metro; her |
|
accolades include the John V. McMillan Hall of Fame Award from the |
|
Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Women's Transportation |
|
Seminar Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award, and the Fort Worth |
|
Business Press Minority Leader in Business award, and in 2016, she |
|
was inducted into the Fort Worth Business Press Entrepreneur Hall |
|
of Fame; and |
|
WHEREAS, With her outstanding leadership, professionalism, |
|
and commitment to excellence, Rosa Navejar has earned the lasting |
|
respect and admiration of her colleagues and fellow citizens, and |
|
her experience and expertise are sure to serve her well as she takes |
|
on this exciting new role; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Rosa Navejar on her election as |
|
board chair of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and that she be |
|
extended sincere best wishes for a productive tenure; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Navejar as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
