R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The barbecue pit manufacturing company Pitmaker in |
|
Humble has distinguished itself as an outstanding example of Texas |
|
innovation and entrepreneurship; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2008, Victor Howard, Julio Howard, and George |
|
Shore established Pitmaker, and with a combined three decades of |
|
experience in competition cooking and metal fabrication, they have |
|
helped bring innovative designs and technology to the barbecue |
|
industry; since the company's inception, it has sold countless |
|
custom barbecue pits, trailers, and food trucks to chefs and |
|
businesses in all 50 states, as well as in more than 40 countries |
|
abroad; its customers have included the Dallas Cowboys, The |
|
University of Texas, and King Ranch, among many others; and |
|
WHEREAS, Pitmaker has been featured on numerous national |
|
television shows demonstrating the unique craft of cooking Texas |
|
barbecue, and the company's owners frequently participate in |
|
barbecue competitions; they have won top honors at such events as |
|
the 2013 World Food Championships and the Memphis in May World |
|
Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to their manufacturing business, the |
|
founders of Pitmaker also own and operate 1886 Humble Backyard, a |
|
popular local restaurant and bar; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the past 15 years, Pitmaker has won the loyalty |
|
of barbecue lovers across the globe, and it is a pleasure to |
|
recognize the company and the reputation for excellence that it has |
|
achieved; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Pitmaker on its record of success |
|
and extend to all those associated with the company sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the business as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
