R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Food & Fuel Association has diligently |
|
represented the interests of its members for nearly 75 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Chartered in 1949 and based in Austin, the |
|
association is dedicated to the advancement of the retail and |
|
wholesale sectors of the state's oil and gas industry; its |
|
membership includes businesses that process, transport, and sell |
|
refined products made from crude oil; and |
|
WHEREAS, TFFA champions businesses that own, operate, and |
|
supply more than 12,000 convenience stores, truck stops, and |
|
grocery stores; in addition, it advocates for fuel marketers that |
|
distribute approximately nine billion gallons of gasoline and |
|
diesel fuel annually, supplying motorists as well as commercial and |
|
industrial customers; the organization further serves |
|
manufacturers and vendors of equipment and services that support |
|
the industry; and |
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of its current chair, Terry |
|
Tesch, TFFA works to raise awareness of the industry's needs and |
|
objectives; the organization assesses industry trends and helps |
|
stakeholders navigate through market fluctuations; among many |
|
services, it offers networking opportunities, development tools, |
|
knowledge resources, and professional education and training; and |
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Food & Fuel Association |
|
play a vital role in the economy, and through the organization's |
|
tireless efforts in their behalf, it is contributing significantly |
|
to the continued prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize the Texas Food & Fuel Association and |
|
extend to all those affiliated with the organization sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
