R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ed Smith of Schleicher County was named the 2022 |
|
Outstanding Trapper of the Year by the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers |
|
Association; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Ballinger, Mr. Smith developed a strong |
|
work ethic at an early age; his first job was delivering newspapers |
|
on a paper route, and he spent his young adulthood working in the |
|
livestock industry; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith later worked in road maintenance in |
|
Colorado, and after moving back to Texas in 1990, he managed |
|
multiple road maintenance projects for the Texas Department of |
|
Transportation throughout San Angelo, Brady, and Brownwood; he also |
|
owned and operated his own road construction company in Richland |
|
Springs; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2015, Mr. Smith became a wildlife management |
|
specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife in San Saba County, where he |
|
honed his abilities tracking and preserving wildlife; two years |
|
later, he moved to San Angelo and assumed his current position as a |
|
wildlife management specialist in Schleicher County; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ed Smith has contributed significantly to his |
|
profession, and he may indeed take great pride in his receipt of |
|
this notable accolade; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ed Smith on being named the 2022 |
|
Outstanding Trapper of the Year by the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers |
|
Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Smith as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
