R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ed Smith of Schleicher County was named the 2022
  Outstanding Trapper of the Year by the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers
  Association; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Ballinger, Mr. Smith developed a strong
  work ethic at an early age; his first job was delivering newspapers
  on a paper route, and he spent his young adulthood working in the
  livestock industry; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Smith later worked in road maintenance in
  Colorado, and after moving back to Texas in 1990, he managed
  multiple road maintenance projects for the Texas Department of
  Transportation throughout San Angelo, Brady, and Brownwood; he also
  owned and operated his own road construction company in Richland
  Springs; and
         WHEREAS, In 2015, Mr. Smith became a wildlife management
  specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife in San Saba County, where he
  honed his abilities tracking and preserving wildlife; two years
  later, he moved to San Angelo and assumed his current position as a
  wildlife management specialist in Schleicher County; and
         WHEREAS, Ed Smith has contributed significantly to his
  profession, and he may indeed take great pride in his receipt of
  this notable accolade; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ed Smith on being named the 2022
  Outstanding Trapper of the Year by the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers
  Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Smith as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
