R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Joshua G. Torres of McLean Middle School has been |
|
named the 2022-2023 Chase Chair for Teaching Excellence in |
|
Secondary English by the Fort Worth Independent School District; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The Academic Chairs for Teaching Excellence program |
|
recognizes outstanding educators in Fort Worth ISD; winners receive |
|
a $5,000 honorarium and hold their title for one year, during which |
|
time they share their knowledge with their fellow teachers and |
|
assist with district programs and departments; and |
|
WHEREAS, A fitting recipient of this notable honor, |
|
Mr. Torres has been teaching for six years; he holds a bachelor's |
|
degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree |
|
from Texas Christian University, and he is currently working on his |
|
dissertation at TCU; and |
|
WHEREAS, Joshua Torres exemplifies the passion and |
|
dedication that are the hallmarks of our best teachers, and he has |
|
set a standard to which all in his profession may aspire; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Joshua G. Torres on being named the |
|
Fort Worth Independent School District 2022-2023 Chase Chair for |
|
Teaching Excellence in Secondary English and extend to him sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Torres as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
