R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Houston Methodist has been named the recipient of |
|
|
six 2022 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Awards from |
|
|
Vizient; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A provider-driven organization, Vizient serves more |
|
|
than half of the health care organizations in the country, helping |
|
|
to strengthen their delivery of high-value care; its prestigious |
|
|
Birnbaum Award acknowledges member health systems that demonstrate |
|
|
superior performance, as measured by the Vizient Quality and |
|
|
Accountability Study, which evaluates care across six domains: |
|
|
mortality, efficiency, effectiveness, patient centeredness, |
|
|
safety, and equity; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Vizient recognized six Houston Methodist health |
|
|
care facilities in 2022; Houston Methodist Sugarland was ranked |
|
|
second out of 127 medical centers in the Large, Specialized Complex |
|
|
Care Medical Centers category while Houston Methodist Hospital was |
|
|
rated sixth out of 107 in the Comprehensive Academic Medical |
|
|
Centers division; out of 148 national facilities, four Houston |
|
|
Methodist hospitals placed in Complex Care Medical Centers |
|
|
category: Houston Methodist The Woodlands ranked first, Houston |
|
|
Methodist Baytown ranked second, Houston Methodist West ranked |
|
|
third, and Houston Methodist Willowbrook ranked sixth; moreover, |
|
|
these honors are a testament to the resilience and dedication of the |
|
|
hospital system's health professionals and employees during a |
|
|
period encompassing severe COVID-19 surges; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception, Houston Methodist has worked |
|
|
tirelessly to provide skilled and compassionate care for its |
|
|
patients, and these latest accolades reflect the organization's |
|
|
ongoing commitment to excellence; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Houston Methodist on its receipt of |
|
|
six Vizient Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Awards for |
|
|
2022 and extend to the organization's physicians, staff, and |
|
|
administrators sincere best wishes for continued success in their |
|
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Houston Methodist as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
