R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ysmael D. Fonseca Jr. was appointed by Governor Greg |
|
Abbott to serve as judge of the 476th Judicial District Court in |
|
Hidalgo County on March 15, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Judge Fonseca is a partner at Guerra & Sabo, PLLC, |
|
and he previously served as judge of the 464th Judicial District |
|
Court, where he presided over thousands of criminal, family, and |
|
civil cases; and |
|
WHEREAS, A member of the State Bar of Texas, Judge Fonseca |
|
also belongs to the Hidalgo County Bar Association, the Claims and |
|
Litigation Management Alliance, and the Federalist Society; |
|
civically engaged, he serves on the board of numerous community |
|
organizations, including RGV LEAD and the Shary Foundation, where |
|
he has also volunteered as a high school professional mentor; he |
|
earned both his bachelor's degree and his law degree from the |
|
University of Notre Dame; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Ysmael Fonseca has upheld the |
|
highest standards of his profession, and the expertise he has |
|
acquired along the way will serve him well as he takes on this |
|
important new role; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable Ysmael D. Fonseca Jr. |
|
on his appointment to the 476th Judicial District Court and extend |
|
to him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Judge Fonseca as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
