R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Central Fort Bend Chamber has been awarded |
|
five-star accreditation by the United States Chamber of Commerce; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The U.S. Chamber's accreditation program is |
|
designed to promote excellence among local chambers of commerce and |
|
to foster a pro-business environment across the country; to earn |
|
accreditation, a chamber must meet high standards in its operations |
|
and programming, including in the areas of governance, government |
|
affairs, communications, and technology; the Central Fort Bend |
|
Chamber is one of only 137 chambers in the nation to earn five-star |
|
accreditation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1910, the Central Fort Bend Chamber |
|
is the oldest chamber in the county; the organization lives up to |
|
its core values of commitment, leadership, integrity, service, and |
|
passion through a variety of programs and initiatives, including |
|
Leadership Fort Bend, the CTE Leadership Academy, and Lemonade Day |
|
Central Fort Bend, which teaches area youth how to start and operate |
|
their own business; and |
|
WHEREAS, Organizations that support local businesses are |
|
essential to the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and the Central |
|
Fort Bend Chamber's receipt of this impressive recognition is a |
|
testament to the significant role it plays in the community; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Central Fort Bend Chamber on |
|
receiving five-star accreditation from the United States Chamber of |
|
Commerce and extend to all those associated with the chamber |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the Central Fort Bend Chamber as an expression of high |
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
