R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close |
|
with the passing of Nick Bradshaw of Wimberley on February 4, 2023; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in McAllen in 1948, Mr. Bradshaw attended Texas |
|
A&M University before transferring to The University of Texas at |
|
Austin, where he graduated with a degree in aerospace engineering |
|
in 1971; after a brief time operating a house-painting business |
|
with friends, he began his engineering career with the Lockheed |
|
Missiles and Space Company in Sunnyvale, California; less than a |
|
year later, he started working for a small marine engineering |
|
consulting company in San Francisco that quickly became the premier |
|
designer of offshore structures for oil production, and he went on |
|
to enjoy a long and rewarding tenure with the company that took him |
|
throughout the United States and the world, including London, where |
|
he lived for 11 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2006, Mr. Bradshaw semi-retired and returned to |
|
Texas; making his home in Wimberley, he became involved with a |
|
number of organizations, such as the Wimberley Democrats and the |
|
Hays County Master Gardeners, and he was also a board member and |
|
past president of the Wimberley Players; in his leisure time, he |
|
enjoyed traveling, gardening, and watching Texas Longhorn football |
|
games; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Bradshaw benefited from |
|
the love and support of his wife, Debbie, with whom he shared 50 |
|
years, and he was the proud father of three children, Ben, Nate, and |
|
Lauren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Nick Bradshaw is deeply missed, memories of |
|
his passion for life, his wonderful sense of humor, and his devotion |
|
to his family remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Nick Bradshaw and |
|
extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nick |
|
Bradshaw. |
