R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Page Michel began her tenure as president and chief |
|
executive officer of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce on |
|
October 3, 2022; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Michel graduated with a bachelor's degree from |
|
Western Carolina University, and she also holds an IOM |
|
certification from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for |
|
Organization Management; she brings to her new position more than |
|
20 years of experience in public relations, marketing, government |
|
advocacy, and nonprofit association management; previously, she |
|
served for 14 years as president of the Washington County Chamber of |
|
Commerce and Brenham Economic Development Foundation, and more |
|
recently, she led the Texas City-La Marque Chamber in Galveston |
|
County as president for two years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Under Mrs. Michel's leadership, the San Marcos Area |
|
Chamber of Commerce will continue to maintain its high level of |
|
excellence and community involvement; she also plans to implement |
|
new benefits for both members and investors; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Michel has contributed her time and talents to |
|
a number of statewide and local organizations, including the Texas |
|
Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Rotary Club, and CASA; in all |
|
her endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of her husband and |
|
their two sons; and |
|
WHEREAS, With her leadership experience and her |
|
long-standing commitment to excellence, Page Michel will |
|
undoubtedly be a strong and dynamic advocate for the chamber in its |
|
mission to support and promote the San Marcos business community; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Page Michel on her appointment as |
|
president and CEO of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Michel as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
