R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The City of Kyle dedicated its new Heroes Memorial |
|
|
Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 11, 2022; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Heroes Memorial Park is designed to be a space for |
|
|
reflection, remembrance, and celebration of the military |
|
|
personnel, law enforcement, firefighters, and other first |
|
|
responders who have called Kyle and Hays County home; located |
|
|
within the city's new Brick and Mortar District, the park features a |
|
|
memorial garden, along with educational displays and other |
|
|
activities for visitors of all ages; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Part of the first phase of the Brick and Mortar |
|
|
District, Heroes Memorial Park is situated on a 138-acre mixed-use |
|
|
development within the Plum Creek master-planned community, which |
|
|
will also include an event lawn and a pedestrian and bike trail; the |
|
|
district and its accompanying park were partially funded by a tax |
|
|
increment finance district, and guidance for the project was |
|
|
provided by the Kyle City Council and the Tax Increment |
|
|
Reinvestment Zone No. 2 Board; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the |
|
|
military and civilian personnel who put themselves in harm's way to |
|
|
defend our safety, security, and freedom, and Kyle's new Heroes |
|
|
Memorial Park is a fitting tribute to the service and sacrifice of |
|
|
those courageous men and women; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of Heroes Memorial |
|
|
Park in Kyle and commend all those associated with this project for |
|
|
their efforts in bringing it to fruition; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the City of Kyle as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
