R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 14th annual Texas Association of First
  Responders Wild Game Cook-Off is taking place in Hempstead at the
  Waller County Fairgrounds on April 14 and 15, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance as one
  of the organization's state championship cook-offs, this
  much-anticipated event attracts talented pitmasters from across
  Texas who put their skills to the test as they vie to produce the
  tastiest entries in several different categories; and
         WHEREAS, The event's grand champion will receive an
  invitation to the American Royal World Series of Barbecue contest
  as well as a chance to compete at the Jack Daniel's World
  Championship Invitational Barbecue competition; and
         WHEREAS, The Wild Game Cook-Off serves as a fundraiser for
  the Texas Association of First Responders, an all-volunteer
  nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to law
  enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical services
  personnel injured in the line of duty; and
         WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and the
  Texas Association of First Responders Wild Game Cook-Off is sure to
  offer everyone in attendance the chance to enjoy good food and good
  times while supporting a worthy cause; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 2023 Texas Association of First
  Responders Wild Game Cook-Off and extend to the organizers,
  contestants, and attendees sincere best wishes for a fun and
  successful event.
