R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The 14th annual Texas Association of First |
|
|
Responders Wild Game Cook-Off is taking place in Hempstead at the |
|
|
Waller County Fairgrounds on April 14 and 15, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance as one |
|
|
of the organization's state championship cook-offs, this |
|
|
much-anticipated event attracts talented pitmasters from across |
|
|
Texas who put their skills to the test as they vie to produce the |
|
|
tastiest entries in several different categories; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The event's grand champion will receive an |
|
|
invitation to the American Royal World Series of Barbecue contest |
|
|
as well as a chance to compete at the Jack Daniel's World |
|
|
Championship Invitational Barbecue competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Wild Game Cook-Off serves as a fundraiser for |
|
|
the Texas Association of First Responders, an all-volunteer |
|
|
nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to law |
|
|
enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical services |
|
|
personnel injured in the line of duty; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and the |
|
|
Texas Association of First Responders Wild Game Cook-Off is sure to |
|
|
offer everyone in attendance the chance to enjoy good food and good |
|
|
times while supporting a worthy cause; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 2023 Texas Association of First |
|
|
Responders Wild Game Cook-Off and extend to the organizers, |
|
|
contestants, and attendees sincere best wishes for a fun and |
|
|
successful event. |
