R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The eighth-grade class of St. Laurence Catholic
  School in Sugar Land is taking part in Catholic Advocacy Day at the
  State Capitol on March 28, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, St. Laurence Catholic School opened its doors in
  1992, and it has since grown into the largest coeducational parish
  grade school in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, with
  approximately 700 students in prekindergarten through eighth
  grade; and
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of current principal Suzanne
  Barto, the school offers a well-rounded Catholic education focused
  on academics, social development, and community service; students
  can also participate in extracurricular activities ranging from
  choir and art to robotics and student council; over the years, the
  school has received numerous accolades, including two National Blue
  Ribbon School of Excellence awards, and it was recognized as a
  STREAM Synergy School by the archdiocese; and
         WHEREAS, For more than three decades, St. Laurence Catholic
  School has provided young Texans with a strong foundation on which
  to build, and the school is indeed deserving of special
  recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the members of the eighth-grade class of
  St. Laurence Catholic School on the occasion of their visit to the
  State Capitol and extend to all those associated with the school
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for St. Laurence Catholic School as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
