R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Benton Tyler Ward of Scouts BSA Troop No. 345 in San
  Antonio has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
  accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor
  bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting
  movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria,
  Mr. Ward earned 71 merit badges as well as 10 Eagle Palms; moreover,
  he completed an Eagle Scout project at Camp CAMP in Center Point,
  which serves children and adults with medical conditions and
  physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities; dedicated
  to helping youth experience the joy of raising and caring for
  animals, he built a rabbit hutch and chicken coops, along with a
  granite path that provides easy access to the enclosures; and
         WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding
  ability throughout his scouting career; he joined the Cub Scouts at
  the age of five, and he helped raise more than $10,000 for the Alamo
  Area Council; a member of the Order of the Arrow, he has served as a
  senior patrol leader and has participated in Alamo Area Council
  leadership programs; moreover, he has guided backpacking and
  canoeing trips at the Philmont Scout Ranch and Northern Tier camps
  and with the Sea Base program; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Ward's dedication to excellence and his
  perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to
  stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride
  on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Benton Tyler Ward on attaining the
  rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Ward as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
