R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Renowned Texas-born actress Jennifer Garner, who
  has enjoyed an impressive career as a film and television actor, has
  further distinguished herself through her work as a philanthropist
  and entrepreneur; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her star-making turn on the hit
  television show Alias, the Houston native has built up a diverse
  résumé through her work on films such as 13 Going on 30, Daredevil,
  Pearl Harbor, Juno, and Dallas Buyers Club; her acclaimed
  performances have earned her a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild
  award, and four Emmy nominations, and she was honored as Female Star
  of the Year at the 2012 CinemaCon Awards for her leading role in The
  Odd Life of Timothy Green; more recently, she has appeared in the
  HBO series Camping and the movies Peppermint, The Adam Project, and
  Yes Day, which she also produced; and
         WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Ms. Garner has held the
  position of artist ambassador for the humanitarian organization
  Save the Children; in addition to helping to bring Save the
  Children's early childhood education programs to West Virginia,
  where she grew up, she has traveled to Capitol Hill and throughout
  the country to meet with lawmakers, journalists, and other
  philanthropists with the goal of promoting awareness and raising
  funds for the organization; she joined the board of trustees of Save
  the Children in 2014, and she currently serves on the nonprofit's
  program impact and marketing committees; and
         WHEREAS, In 2017, Ms. Garner cofounded the organic food
  company Once Upon a Farm; along with serving as its chief brand
  officer, she is responsible for overseeing charitable outreach
  initiatives for the business, which supports Save the Children's
  early education and nutrition programs; the company has also
  partnered with Save the Children for its A Million Meals program,
  and it has pledged to deliver one million nutritious meals to
  children in food-insecure communities by 2024; and
         WHEREAS, Jennifer Garner has earned praise and admiration for
  her acting accomplishments as well as for her inspiring work as an
  advocate for children and families in need, and it is truly a
  pleasure to acknowledge the positive impact of her many
  contributions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Jennifer Garner for her outstanding
  achievements in acting, business, and philanthropy and extend to
  her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Garner as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
