R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Mansfield City Council has been named the
  recipient of the 2023 City Council of the Year Award from the Texas
  City Management Association; and
         WHEREAS, This notable accolade recognizes city councils that
  have made significant contributions to local government in the Lone
  Star State; the Mansfield council is being honored for its
  commitment to ethics, citizen welfare, policy-making, and
  financial management and for fostering positive community
  relations; and
         WHEREAS, Led by Mayor Michael Evans and Mayor Pro Tem Todd
  Tonore, the Mansfield council includes council members Tamera
  Bounds, Casey Lewis, Julie Short, and Larry Broseh; among their
  responsibilities, the council members serve as liaisons to a number
  of advisory committees, and they play an instrumental role in
  guiding the economic development of Mansfield, a fast-growing city
  of more than 74,000 people that is bolstered by its health care,
  retail trade, and manufacturing industries; and
         WHEREAS, Committed champions of their community, the members
  of the Mansfield City Council have demonstrated exemplary
  leadership in behalf of their fellow citizens, and they are truly
  deserving of this recent honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Mansfield City Council on its
  selection as the 2023 City Council of the Year by the Texas City
  Management Association and extend to its members sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Mansfield City Council as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
