R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Christian Community Action (CCA) in Denton County is
  marking the 50th anniversary of its founding in 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Started as a small Bible study in 1973, CCA has since
  grown into a nonprofit organization with 30 employees and more than
  5,500 volunteers; the group assists area residents facing poverty
  and homelessness, with the ultimate goal of helping local families
  to thrive; in its important work, the organization is guided by the
  principles of excellence, dignity, servant spirit, trust,
  diversity, and integrity; and
         WHEREAS, CCA offers a wide variety of services, including a
  food pantry, financial assistance, seasonal programs, assistance
  for seniors, and education and empowerment; in 2022, the
  organization provided more than two million healthy meals,
  contributed nearly $1.5 million toward preventing and ending
  homelessness, and gave Christmas gifts to over 1,500 children; and
         WHEREAS, For half a century, Christian Community Action has
  played a vital role in the North Texas community, and the
  organization is indeed deserving of recognition on this important
  milestone in its history; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of Christian
  Community Action and extend to all those associated with the
  organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for CCA as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
  of Representatives.
