R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Captain Colin Sullivan is retiring from the Flower |
|
Mound Police Department on April 14, 2023, drawing to a close an |
|
outstanding career with the agency that has spanned 28 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, After serving as a probation officer with the Denton |
|
County Probation Department for several years, Colin Sullivan |
|
joined the Flower Mound Police Department in 1995, and he was |
|
promoted to sergeant in 2000; he went on to become captain in 2016, |
|
and three years later, he was assigned to the Criminal |
|
Investigations Division; over the course of his tenure with the |
|
agency, he has served in a variety of capacities, including as a |
|
patrol officer, detective, supervisor, district attorney liaison, |
|
SWAT team member, and narcotics officer; he has also played an |
|
instrumental role in establishing professional standards, |
|
providing field training, and fostering community relations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Among his many achievements, Captain Sullivan has |
|
received a number of Supervisor of the Year awards, a Community |
|
Service Award, a Police Commendation Award, and a Life Saving |
|
Award; he holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the |
|
University of North Texas, and he is a licensed master peace officer |
|
and a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement instructor; in addition, |
|
he is a graduate of the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management |
|
Institute of Texas Leadership Command College; and |
|
WHEREAS, Colin Sullivan has greatly benefited the citizens of |
|
Flower Mound through his skill, professionalism, and commitment to |
|
public safety, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |
|
contributions as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his |
|
life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Captain Colin Sullivan on his |
|
retirement from the Flower Mound Police Department and extend to |
|
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Captain Sullivan as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
