R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Michael Evanko Douglas of El Dorado High School in |
|
|
the Socorro Independent School District has received the Lavis |
|
|
Mentor Teacher Award from The University of Texas at El Paso College |
|
|
of Education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the Lavis Mentor Teacher Awards are |
|
|
presented to a select number of educators who have excelled in their |
|
|
duties and who have provided valuable guidance and support to UTEP |
|
|
teacher candidates; as a 2023 honoree, Mr. Douglas was awarded |
|
|
$2,500 and was celebrated at the annual College of Education |
|
|
Recognition Event on March 30; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans |
|
|
have a stake, and through his tireless efforts, Michael Evanko |
|
|
Douglas is helping to further the professional development of the |
|
|
next generation of teachers in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Evanko Douglas on |
|
|
receiving the Lavis Mentor Teacher Award from The University of |
|
|
Texas at El Paso College of Education and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Douglas as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
