R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Taylor Mersmann of Rock Hill High School in the |
|
Prosper Independent School District has received a 2022 Pathfinder |
|
Award from the Texas Association of Journalism Educators; and |
|
WHEREAS, Each year, TAJE presents Pathfinder Awards to |
|
educators with seven or fewer years of teaching experience who have |
|
distinguished themselves as rising stars in their profession; |
|
Ms. Mersmann was honored for her outstanding leadership and |
|
dedication to public service; and |
|
WHEREAS, After joining the faculty of Prosper ISD, |
|
Ms. Mersmann worked at Rogers Middle School for six years and Hays |
|
Middle School for a year; she currently teaches journalism at Rock |
|
Hill High School, where she has also led the media team; she holds a |
|
bachelor's degree in education from Texas State University and a |
|
master's degree in technology education from Texas A&M University; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Taylor Mersmann has greatly enriched the lives of |
|
many young Texans through her passion for teaching and her |
|
extraordinary expertise in journalism, and she is truly deserving |
|
of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Taylor Mersmann on receiving the |
|
Pathfinder Award from the Texas Association of Journalism Educators |
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Mersmann as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
