R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jim Yeonopolus is retiring as chancellor of Central
  Texas College on August 31, 2023, drawing to a close a distinguished
  tenure with the school that has spanned five decades; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Yeonopolus first joined Central Texas College
  (CTC) in 1973 as a counselor in the student services department; he
  went on to hold several leadership positions at the college,
  including dean, assistant deputy chancellor, and deputy chancellor
  before being officially appointed as chancellor on November 19,
  2015; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his career with CTC,
  Mr. Yeonopolus has distinguished himself through his tireless
  efforts to advance the school's mission of providing quality
  education, training, and support services to a diverse student
  population; with its central campus located in Killeen, CTC offers
  programs and services at multiple sites worldwide, including to
  members of the military; a Vietnam veteran, Mr. Yeonopolus has
  played an integral part in furthering the school's commitment to
  offering educational opportunities to service members and their
  families; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed administrator holds a master's degree
  from the University of Arizona, a bachelor's degree from Texas
  State University, and an associate's degree from Temple College;
  active in his professional community, he has given generously of
  his time and talents to the Council of College and Military
  Educators, which honored him with a William E. Kennedy Award, and
  the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on
  Colleges; a member of the Vietnamese Airborne Division Association,
  he was recognized as the 2008 Airborne Man of the Year, and he
  received a 2021 Congressional Veteran Commendation by U.S.
  Congressman John Carter; and
         WHEREAS, Through his skillful leadership and commitment to
  excellence, Jim Yeonopolus has greatly benefited Central Texas
  College, and his contributions will continue to resonate in the
  years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Yeonopolus on his retirement as
  chancellor of Central Texas College and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Yeonopolus as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
