R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Eddy Betancourt was reappointed to the Texas |
|
Facilities Commission on April 14, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Facilities Commission builds, supports, |
|
maintains, and manages more than 28 million square feet of |
|
state-owned and leased facilities that house over 62,000 state |
|
employees in over 100 state agencies, all working in the service of |
|
the citizens of Texas; Mr. Betancourt was first named to the |
|
commission in 2020, and he was reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott |
|
to a term that expires on January 31, 2029; and |
|
WHEREAS, A leader in the business community, Mr. Betancourt |
|
is president of R & B General Construction Co., and he is co-owner |
|
and president of National Tire and Wheel and a general retail |
|
partner manager for E2H Investments; he also serves on the Hidalgo |
|
County Appraisal District board of directors and the Enactus |
|
advisory board, and he is a member of the McAllen Board of Realtors |
|
and the National Association of Realtors; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Betancourt holds a bachelor's degree in |
|
marketing and international business studies from The University of |
|
Texas-Pan American; and |
|
WHEREAS, The skill, professionalism, and commitment to |
|
excellence demonstrated by Eddy Betancourt have made him an |
|
important asset to the Texas Facilities Commission, and his |
|
continued service is greatly appreciated by his colleagues and his |
|
fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Eddy Betancourt on his |
|
reappointment to the Texas Facilities Commission and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Betancourt as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
